A Bridge Bet

A Bridge Bet is a tongue-in-cheek gambling joke that came from an old-time professional gambler named Jimmy Jones. He was a horse better and defined a Bridge Bet as going all in and betting the family farm on a 50 to 1 long shot. If the horse won, you were a genius and a rich man. If the horse didn’t win, you just walked down to nearest bridge and jumped off!!!

So, here’s a series of Bridge Bets before the weird Iowa Caucuses-

A. Trump will win Iowa by a narrow margin. Nikki Haley will run a surprisingly close second.

B. Nikki Haley will start to pick up momentum and will win in New Hampshire. After Super Tuesday in March, she’ll be the Republican candidate and the race will be over.

C. After losing, Trump will go completely batshit—name calling, labeling the process as fixed and refusing to accept getting beat.

D. Nikki Haley has been using Muhammad Ali’s “rope-a-dope” trick, letting an opponent punch themselves out. pretty soon she’ll start hitting back. She’s a veteran of South Carolina politics when the time is right and in the south, politics are a contact sport. She can trade elbows with the boys when the time is right. She’s also got that “Mom Voice” when she starts getting pissed off and you’ll hear it more.

E. You can stick a fork in Ron DeSantis, he’s done.

F. Joe Biden's health is failing. He’s not up to a full campaign and he knows it. As soon as Trump is out of the race, he’ll announce he’s not seeking a second term.

G. Kamala Harris will clap her hands and grin for about 30 seconds until the Democratic money and power brokers explain to her that she couldn’t get elected Township Road Commissioner. Ten minutes later, Gavin Newsom will be drafted as the democratic candidate for president.

H. The 2024 presidential race will be Haley vs Newsom…Let me think about this a little, re-assess my guess and pick out a bridge in case I’m totally wrong…
